Quantifiers

Hello everyone! Today we're learning about quantifiers with students between 4th and 6th of primary!  To start the activity we can play this game I created using Wordwall, in which the students have to smash the moles that carry the correct answer. Doing that, they will be able to practice and remember the difference between countable and uncountable nouns. This will be necessary to learn about quantifiers.  Once we've got their attention, the next step will be watching this interesting video in class, in which some quantifiers as much, many, little, few or a lot of are explained.  After that, we will ask them if they understand everything and we'll solve doubts if necessary. Finally, I've created this worksheet using Canva, in which there is a fridge with some food inside. The children have to write what's in the fridge using quantifiers and they can also add different items drawing them and writing them with the correct quantifiers.  Let me know in the comments yo

Reading computers

Hello everyone! Today we're going to practice a reading activity! As our students are digital natives, I've looked for a text about computers, for them to know more about this tool they use everyday almost everytime. You can find the text in the following link: https://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/read-write/reading-practice/level-3-reading/computers To start the activity we can ask the students some questions about the creation of computers to see their knowledge, like: when they were created, by who, where, how they were at the beginning... we can also ask them about mobile phones, Internet...  Later, we will read the text and check doubts together. Also, we will explain them some vocabulary that we find interesting for them to know, such as "store" or "program". We can also look for pictures or further information about the things that are mentioned in the text, so they can find the activity more interesting.  Finally, I have prepared a Kahoot with

Past simple game

Hello everyone! I've been studying past simple in my primary 3 class and here I share a game I created for them in which, in the webpage Wordwall, they have to order some words to create a sentence using this verb tense.  I hope you like it and enjoy it as much as my students did! See you soon!

Farm listening

Hello everyone! Today we're going to the farm! Here you are a listening activity using the following audio that you can find in the link: https://www.learning-english-online.net/language-course/unit-8-at-the-animal-farm/reading-and-listening-story/ It is about a family which visits the farm and the different animals and activities they find there. In the link, you can also find the script.  The activity I did is the following one: First of all, we warm-up and engage the students doing a brainstorming of the animals they know, using a padlet in a collaborative way, as the one you can see here: https://padlet.com/carolinafernandez21214/animals-uht55pbyr6jnm2dc Next step will be listening to the audio and discovering what happens with this family. Later on, we will check the understanding of the students and also, we will give them the following worksheets I created with Canva: Once the students have listened to the audio twice, they will be able to answer the questions and together,

Delicious food writing

Hello everyone and welcome to my restaurant! As you already know I'm a big fan of Canva and here I am again one of my creations.  The aim of this worksheet is to practice writing about food with primary 1 or 2 students. First of all it is necessary that the students have learnt some vocabulary about food so, later, we can give them this worksheet to practice it. They have to write some food they love, like and don't like and then, choose three of them and draw a picture in each of the boxes given.  I've used it with my students and they really enjoyed doing the activity. You can ask them also, when they finish, to show it to the rest of the classmates to make it more motivating and to practice also the speaking skill.  I hope you like it and find it useful, again, if you want to have access to the resource, contact me in the form and I'll send it as soon as possible.  Let me know in the comments your opinion about it.  See you soon!

Moods flashcards

Hi everyone! Today I come with some flashcards I created to work feelings, moods and speaking as a routine everyday in class. I use them with grades between 1st and 3rd of primary and first of all I show them the name of the moods at the same time that we do TPR to understand the meaning and associate the mood with an action.  In order, the moods presented are:  Happy Sad Tired  Angry Scared  Thristy Hungry Hot Cold Nervous Sick Once they have learnt the action and the mood, I ask them everyday pointing to each picture: "How do you feel today?", so they have to answer "Today I feel ..." while doing the TPR too. Later, I take advantage of this knowledge and in the assembly I ask them how they feel and why. Another idea, something that I also do with all of them is asking them what do they do when they are... So the same way that we do the last part of the activity we do this one. The phrases that we say are: When I'm happy I smile When I'm sad I cry When I

Warm-up speaking

Hi everyone! Picture this: today is the first day of class and you do not really know your students. Neither do they. What can you do to sort out this situation? Here I am the answer to your questions: This resource I created using Canva can help you in several ways. First of all, as the questions are very simple, this activity could be done with the smallest ones, like primary one or two if they talk about vocabulary they probably know, such as food, colours or toys. Apart from that, if your students are older you can tell them to ask for further information.  Not only speaking could be practice through this worksheet, as it is necessary that all children look for different classmates for each question, but also students will be able to stand up and walk around the class, something that will probably make them feel more motivated and active. As the activity is about likes and dislikes, it will be very useful to know your students better an so they will be able to know each other.  It
